T-Mobile claims the exlusive rights for the Magenta colour in their business.
Design Studio Lava comes with a concept called freemagenta to say that it's absolutely ridicules to claim such a thing as a colour. News paper De Dag wrote an article about this subject.
In my designers opinion it's a sign of weakness to claim a colour.
In the marketing opinion it's a sign of power and a great publicity stunt.
Owning an idea
If you want to be an owner of an idea (in the Netherlands). You just have to come up with an authentic idea and drop it at one of these offices (make sure you bring a large bag of money).
